Известный чипмейкер – компания Qualcomm Incorporated, подала судовой иск на производителя китайских смартфонов – бренд Meizu. Суть претензии заключается в игнорировании разработчиками Meizu интеллектуальной собственности Qualcomm.
Представители Qualcomm Incorporated заявляют, что Meizu, не имея должного на то разрешения, используют запатентованные производителем процессоров технологии, касающиеся беспроводной связи.
Видимо, в претензии речь идет о поддержке гаджетами Meizu современных сетей 3G, 4G LTE, осуществляемой путем применения наработок Qualcomm.

На сегодня более 100 мировых производителей, включая некоторые китайские бренды, уже признали патентные обязательства перед Qualcomm Incorporated. Однако компания Meizu
Получается, что именно из-за проблем с патентами Meizu не переходили на использование в своих смартфонах процессоров от Qualcomm – оплата прав на применение данных технологий для китайского бренда была непосильной.
Но, после того как Alibaba инвестировали в Meizu серьезные капиталы, Qualcomm Incorporated «проснулись» и стали более решительными в своих требованиях. Как результат – подача иска в суд для решения проблемы.

Ранее Meizu уже сталкивались с судебными исками от Apple (о клонировании iPhone) и от компании ZTE (относительно клавиши Home). Как решится ситуация в данном случае – покажет время. Но будем надеяться, что Qualcomm Incorporated и Meizu придут к соглашению, и мы сможем увидеть флагманы топового бренда из Китая, оснащенные мощными процессорами линейки Snapdragon.

Анонсирован первый смартфон Meizu с чипсетом Qualcomm Snapdragon
Ранее Meizu использовала в своих смартфонах только платформы MediaTek и Samsung, а вот ее отношения с Qualcomm были далеки от идеала. Летом 2016 года Qualcomm даже подала в суд на Meizu, обвинив последнюю в нарушении патентов. Однако к концу года компании заключили мировое соглашение, и вот теперь начавшаяся тогда дружба вылилась в смартфон Meizu M6 Note.
Аппарат получил чипсет Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 с восемью вычислительными ядрами и графическим ускорителем Adreno 506. Что до памяти, то M6 Note будет предлагаться в двух модификациях: первая оснащена 3 Гбайт оперативной и 16 Гбайт встроенной памяти, вторая – 4 и 32 Гбайт.
Экран у новинки 5,5-дюймовый с разрешением 1920 х 1080 точек, матрица выполнена по технологии IGZO. Задняя камера Meizu M6 Note сдвоенная: первый модуль (12 мегапикселей, апертура f/1.9) обеспечивает цветную картинку, второй (5 мегапикселей) – монохромную. Такая схема дает более высокое качество снимков при плохом освещении и возможность размытия фона на снимках.
Для любителей автопортретов есть фронтальная камера на 16 мегапикселей с апертурой f/2.0. Также в смартфоне предусмотрены сканер отпечатков пальцев, поддержка LTE, два гнезда для SIM-карт, слот для флешек MicroSD емкостью до 128 Гбайт и батарея на 4000 мАч с быстрой зарядкой.
Работает новинка под управлением Android 7.1 Nougat с оболочкой Flyme 6.
В России Meizu M6 Note появится осенью 2017 года. Цены объявят позднее.
Сейчас можно говорить лишь о цветовых вариантах (корпус у Meizu M6 Note, к слову, металлический). Их четыре: черный, серебристый, золотистый и синий.

Qualcomm подала в суд на Meizu из-за нарушения патентов на 3G и 4G
Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) announced that it has filed a complaint against Meizu in the Beijing Intellectual Property Court. The complaint requests rulings that the terms of a patent license offered by Qualcomm to Meizu comply with China’s Anti-Monopoly Law, and Qualcomm’s fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing obligations. The complaint also seeks a ruling that the offered patent license terms should form the basis for a patent license with Meizu for Qualcomm’s fundamental technologies patented in China for use in mobile devices, including those relating to 3G (WCDMA and CDMA2000) and 4G (LTE) wireless communications standards.
Qualcomm has negotiated extensively and in good faith with Meizu to sign a patent license agreement consistent with the terms of the rectification plan submitted by Qualcomm to, and accepted by, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in 2015. Although Qualcomm would have preferred to reach a resolution with Meizu without the need for litigation, Meizu, unfortunately, has been unwilling to negotiate in good faith and enter into a license agreement on the rectification plan terms while unfairly expanding its business through the use of Qualcomm’s innovations without compensating Qualcomm for the use of Qualcomm’s valuable technologies. In contrast, more than 100 other companies have already accepted the rectification plan terms, including the largest Chinese mobile device suppliers.

Meizu is choosing to use these technologies without a license, which is not only unlawful, but is unfair to other licensees that are acting in good faith and respectful of patent rights, and ultimately damaging to the mobile ecosystem and consumers,” said Don Rosenberg, executive vice president and general counsel of Qualcomm Incorporated. “We are, and have been, a good partner in China, and we are pleased to see how China’s mobile ecosystem is thriving.
